And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7.)
This man, who would later come to be known as Adam, became the first living, at least animal life, on the face of the earth, bar none, according to the chronology given in Genesis chapter 2.
